Large-tailed nightjars are known in Malaysia to frequent cemeteries at night and are called “burung tukang kubur” (“graveyard nightjar”). They have an extensive distributional range, including Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
